Early Childhood Programs
The Early On program in Saline Area Schools utilizes the Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD) service providers for comprehensive developmental evaluations in the areas of fine motor, gross motor, communication, cognitive, self-help and social-emotional development for children ages birth to three. *Please note students may be transitioned to Preschool Special Education services at age 2.5.
Early on Special Education Evaluations
Saline Area Schools provides speech, occupational and physical therapy evaluations and services for preschool age children that live in the school district. Some children who do not qualify for the ECSE program described above, may still qualify for therapy services provided by the school district.

Preschool Special Education
The ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education) classroom is designed to meet the unique strengths and needs of children ages 2 ½ years to 6 years old. Students must meet the eligibility requirements established by the State of Michigan administrative rules for special education. The teaching team includes: a general education preschool teacher, certified special education teacher, speech therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, social worker, and school psychologist. The team uses a play-based curriculum that includes focus on development of individual skills such as: communication skills, motor skills, and social skills. We strive to provide an inclusive approach to teaching by teaming with the Community Education Preschool classes at Liberty School.
