Saline Area Schools Kindergarten/ Young 5's Registration Information  

Online registration is only part of the process..... you will still need to present the following documentation on-site (beginning at the March 21st registration night at Heritage School OR at Liberty School starting on March 27th)

  1. Proof of Residency (two forms of ID are required)
  2. Original Birth Certificate
  3. Most recent immunization records with proof of vision screening ***
  4. Proof of Guardianship (If Applicable)​.....If the student is not living with either parent, proof of full guardianship from the Probate Court must be submitted.  This must be updated annually.
  5. Court Documents (if applicable)... a parent who wishes to have the school limit access to their child by the other parent must provide legal documentation to this affect at time of registration.  The school cannot deny a natural parent access to his/her child without documentation on file.

*** Proof of vision screening is required by the first day of school. Screening must be done by the local Health Department (which is free) or an eye doctor... (pediatricians are not licensed to conduct this type of screening). It is recommended that screening was completed in the past 6 months and must include tests for monocular visual acuity and eye muscle function.

Under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, schools must identify children and youth in homeless situations and provide appropriate services.  One such service is immediate enrollment in school, even if the student(s) lacks the appropriate paperwork required for enrollment. 

If you have questions as to whether your family may meet the criteria set by the Homeless Act, please complete the Residency Questionnaire and submit it to the Saline Area Schools District Office located:
