Keith and Becky Rife - Paw Paw, MI

In the early 1980’s, Keith Rife was paid by a farmer to trim grapevines in his hometown on the west side of Michigan. His mother-in-law suggested using the vines to do grapevine wreaths which were quite popular at that time. In fact, she approached several florists who placed wholesale orders. Thus developed the business of GRAPE COUNTRY FLORALS for Keith and Becky Rife.

One of their wholesale customers became a mentor who encouraged them to take the next step and decorate the wreaths Keith was making. Becky had always been creative but Keith had no experience. But many experiments later, craft shows became their outlet for selling their creations. Both relate that they “enjoy craft shows for the immediate positive feedback, (they) receive on their products,” says Becky. Many customers relay “the compliments they receive from friends and how they love our floral works.” Becky states that their best selling design is a swag that features mittens and wispy, dangling evergreen that looks great on a front door all through the winter season. Keith says his favorite design are harvest baskets where he uses a unique basket and chooses an assortment of fruits, acorns, pumpkins and gourds arranged with fall foliages and cattails. On occasion he even adds a ceramic quail or sea grass squirrel to make a truly unique piece.
