Teachers

Our teachers have years of teaching experience with young children and have educational backgrounds in elementary education and early childhood.

Each classroom is staffed with two professional and experienced teachers. Our staff is dedicated to provide children a nurturing and supportive learning environment. We focus on a hands-on approach using manipulative materials and real-life situations in science and math curriculum. Discovery and exploration are encouraged in all of the learning activities. Twice a year parent and teacher conferences are conducted to inform parents about the child's development and progress.

Teacher Credentials

A brief education background and experience of each Pooh Corner Preschool staff member:

Terrie Eroh has a Bachelor’s degree in Science and in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Eastern Michigan University.  Terrie believes children learn best with hands on experiences to develop their physical, social and cognitive skills in a positive, caring environment.  Terrie has taught for 23 years at Pooh Corner.

India Sobieski earned her post baccalaureate teaching certificate in Elementary Education with a focus on Science from Eastern Michigan University and her Master’s Degree in Reading from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.  India believes preschool is a time for children to grow and learn through exploration and self-directed inquiry.   She believes it is her task to help them in their growth by providing an engaging learning environment that is safe, supportive, and nurturing.  India has taught for 4 years at Pooh Corner.

Su-Fen Lin is the Director of the Pooh Corner Program.  Su-Fen has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Michigan University.  She taught children from 0-5 years old and has more than 20 years of experience working with children and parents, including 10 years as an Early Childhood Program Director for the University of Michigan.  Su-Fen believes a developmental approach to early education through spontaneous, and integrated curriculum, children build strong foundations for learning.  Su Fen has been with Pooh Corner for 14 years.
