Game Day- Virtual Club-

If you are looking to connect with friends or make new friends during lunchtime then Game Day is the club for you! Game Day will consist of students coming together to play games via zoom such as “Would You Rather, Jeopardy, Kahoot”, free social chat time with friends and more! Game day will be held on Fridays during lunch from 11:10-11:40am starting Friday, December 4th.  Please complete this Game Day Interest Form to express your interest in this club and our club advisor will respond to you with the zoom link. Mrs. Collins, our School Social Worker will be the advisor for this club. If you have questions please reach out to Mrs. Collins at collinsa@salineschools.org to join this club.

Gay-Straight Alliance Club-

Is your student interested in helping start Saline Middle School's Gay-Straight Alliance? Whether you're a part of the LGBTQ+ community or you're an ally, we would love to hear how interested your student is. Students, please complete the following GSA Interest Form if you would like to join. Additional information will be shared directly with students who complete the interest form. Mr. Terberg, terbergj@salineschools.org, will be the advisor for this club.

PALS Club-

Want to be a part of a student group starting at SMS? Are you interested in learning about how to help other students meet new friends? PALs is a student group, which stands for Peer Assisted Learners. PALs promotes respect, kindness, and friendship for all students. By joining PALs, you will help students with special needs during their lunch period (virtually) to create a positive school environment, learn about disabilities, and learn how to build relationships with students with disabilities. Please complete this PALS Interest Form. Additional information will be shared directly with students who complete the interest form. Mrs. Ceo and Mrs. Wilkinson will be the advisors for this club.

Super Smash Club-

Super Smash Club will meet Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30-7:55 AM in the SMS Hot Spot. There are a limited number of screens and seats available for use, so interested students please complete the Super Smash Club Interest Form. Math Counts -

When: Mondays 3-4pm. TBD

Where: Ms. Reik's Room (B205) in the 8th grade pod

Who: Any 6th - 8th graders who enjoy fun math challenges & puzzles

Students are welcome to attend any and all meetings!  

MathCounts is a national program for middle schoolers.  It meets weekly to go through fun problems and talk about strategies and approaches!  We will be gearing up for our county competition held annually in February.

Science Olympiad

Meeting Times:  Thursdays from 3:00-5:00 pm (sometimes until 6:00 pm) and Saturdays from 2:00-5:00 pm

Location - Virtual

Fees:  $50 registration 

Purpose of club: Team based participation in Science Olympiad, with invitational competitions leading to regional and hopefully state level participation.  We are encouraging the exploration and learning of many different science and engineering concepts while bringing team enthusiasm and pride.

Robotics Club

Fees: $65 (payable to Saline Area Schools with SMS Robotics in the memo line)

Purpose of club: Explore the possibilities of STEM through designing, building, programming and operating robots to play a floor game in an alliance format.   Practice engineering principles while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and sharing ideas.

Boys Choir

Meeting Times: 

Purpose:  This choir for boys only sings at four concerts during the year.  They sing fun choral music of varying styles in two-part harmony.  New members join in September and mid-December.

Girls Choir

Meeting Times: 

Purpose:  Girls Choir membership is by audition.  Auditions are open to girls enrolled in band, choir or orchestra during the day.  Girls Choir sings advanced music of varying styles in unison or two- or three-part harmony.  Girls Choir performs at four evening concerts during the year and one weekend choir festival in early March.

Drama Club -

All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are welcome. Can't come to the meeting this week? No problem. We meet every Friday. No signing up necessary, just show up when you can, ready to have fun, play games, and learn about drama. Contact Ms. Glatz with any questions.

Fiddle Club

Group for students in grades 6th 7th or 8th who play violin, viola, cello or bass to learn how to play and perform folk fiddling music. The emphasis will be on learning how to play folk fiddling music from all over the world as well as each of the regional American styles.
