Meet the Principal

Welcome to Woodland Meadows!
My name is Laura Washington, and I’m thrilled to begin my 24th year with Saline Area Schools and my fifth year as the principal of Woodland Meadows. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles—including Spanish Teacher, English Language Coordinator, Assistant Principal at Saline Middle School, and Principal at both Heritage and Saline Middle School. Each of these experiences has shaped my passion for education, and I’m honored to continue this journey with you and your child.

At Woodland Meadows, our staff deeply values the power of partnership and collaboration with families. We strive to create a joyful and nurturing school environment where students grow not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. I am truly excited to work alongside our students, families, and dedicated staff to ensure Woodland Meadows remains a warm, welcoming, and supportive place where every child loves to learn.

MEET THE ACADEMIC DEAN

Hi! My name is Jill Parrish, and I am the Academic Dean at Woodland Meadows. This is my 12th year in education and my 7th year with Saline Area Schools. I am excited to be in this new role at Woodland Meadows, where I previously taught first and third grade. Throughout my career, I have also had the opportunity to teach in Minnesota and Utah. I earned my Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia and my Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota. I am currently pursuing my Education Specialist degree in K–12 Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University.

I believe Woodland Meadows provides a learning environment that supports academic achievement and social-emotional growth for every student. Our outstanding educators are committed to student success, collaboration, and kindness. I am continually inspired by the work they do each day. I look forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to make every student’s experience at Woodland Meadows a positive and successful one!
