MDE is sharing the following message from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity:

The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity has launched the new Youth Employment Permit Portal, a centralized online system that will modernize the state’s youth employment permit process and make it more convenient and accessible for minors, families and employers. Local school districts and nonpublic schools will no longer issue youth employment permits. 

Beginning Oct. 2, employers and minors will use the new portal to complete the youth employment permit process through one statewide system. For additional information and updates, visit Michigan.gov/YouthEmployment
