Skills/USA Automotive Technology 2014-15 Regional Competition
On Friday February 6th nine Career and Technical Education students from the South and West Washtenaw Consortium competed in the Skills USA regional Automotive Technology competition. The South and West Washtenaw Consortium was one of twelve schools in attendance. The competition was held at Washtenaw Community College and is designed to create real life diagnostic and repair situations.
Skills/USA Automotive Technology 2014-15 Regional Competition
On Friday February 6th nine Career and Technical Education students from the South and West Washtenaw Consortium competed in the Skills USA regional Automotive Technology competition. The South and West Washtenaw Consortium was one of twelve schools in attendance. The competition was held at Washtenaw Community College and is designed to create real life diagnostic and repair situations.
The SWWC Automotive Technology program dominated the overall Master Technician competition with Milan H.S. junior Christian Libby placed second, Saline H.S. senior Kyle Jennings placed third and Manchester H.S. senior Evan Molotky placing fourth. SWWC students Austin Stark senior from Lincoln H.S. and Saline Senior, Angelos Bairactaris placed second and third respectfully in the Automotive Brakes competition. Saline junior, Dane Hoffman placed fourth in the Automotive Electrical competition and Saline senior Alex Labovich placed fourth in the New Car Prep competition. All four of the competitions reflect the requirements of the ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) technician certification tasks and exams. All the above mentioned students earned industrial prizes from Snap-On tools and Car Quest Auto Parts.

The Saline Chapter of Business Professionals of America competed at the regional competition Friday, January 5th, at Henry Ford Community College. All chapter participants did a wonderful job representing Saline High School and several members will compete at the state competition in March held at the Amway Grand Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Join Saline High School Musicians for a special concert! The Chamber Choir, Chamber Orchestra, select Wind Ensemble members, and Saline Community/Staff members will perform the Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 1st in the Saline High School Auditorium. This concert will send-off the Chamber Choir to their trip to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The concert is free and all are welcome to come enjoy this unique collaborative event!

April 22, 2014 - The 2014 Best High Schools rankings, released today by U.S. News & World Report, reported that six schools in Michigan's top 60 high schools are in the Ottawa area. The ranking was touted by Doing More. Together., a collaborative effort launched by a coalition of Ottawa area schools, companies and organizations.
