Tuition-Free Preschool
Saline Area Schools offers Preschool for All classrooms for children ages 4–5, providing a strong, supportive start to their educational journey. Through play-based, developmentally appropriate learning, children build foundational skills in early literacy, problem-solving, social-emotional development, and independence. Each classroom is led by a certified, highly qualified teacher and supported by an associate teacher, ensuring a nurturing and responsive learning environment for every child. Saline Area Schools utilizes the research-based High Scope Curriculum Framework.
The Michigan Department of Education’s Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s free Pre-K program for eligible four-year-olds, and it’s ranked #1 in the nation for a reason. GSRP helps your child build confidence, curiosity, and the skills they need to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.
Ages Served: 4 (as of September 1, 2026) - 5 years old

Schedule:
- Full Day Option (3 classrooms* / 48 slots): Monday-Friday, School Day
- Half Day Option (1 classroom* / 16 slots): Monday-Friday, Half Day AM (no lunch period)
*Pending approval from the State of Michigan
Cost: Free
Eligibility: Available to all families, with priority given based on state guidelines.
Registration: Register through the WISD (Families must choose three locations when registering)
