Cindy Higgins resides in a small town in northern Indiana called Shipshewana. Starting about 25 years ago, Cindy spent several years sewing fabric lampshades and selling them wholesale. She then made apple trees with hand rolled clay apples with leaves and placed a ladder by the tree, and a basket of apples underneath. This then led to snowmen ornaments made of fabric, toothpick noses, black top hat and stick arms. “I loved painting the faces as it displayed their personalities,” says Cindy. She never took formal painting classes but learned how to paint from reading a book. She relates that “her best seller is blank beveled glass pieces on which I paint flowers, palm trees, fruits, pumpkins, snowmen and…” “Somewhere along the way we started going to shows with most of them being in IN, MI, OH, & IL.” Being a stay at home mom and wanting to spend “all day at the zoo” if she wanted to, this job has been the best. Blessed with three children, Cindy loves painting-painting on bottles, salt/pepper shakers, ornaments, vases, nighlights, soap dispensers, wine bottle lamps, vase lights, mini bottles, votives and anything made of glass. “If you see me at a show, stop in and say HI.” Cindy states and “I offer you something for yourself, a unique gift or just a smile when you visit.”
