Welcome to Saline High School
Hello, Saline High School Students & Parents,
We hope that everyone has had an enjoyable summer thus far. While we still have a few weeks remaining for most, we do have many of our students preparing for extracurriculars and participating in the numerous camps offered. However, we do need to start thinking about the 2025-2026 school year! Parents, we know that many of you may be nervous about the first day of school, but rest assured, your students are in good hands.
This email contains lots of information regarding the week of August 11th and events planned around our “Schedule Pick Up / School Picture Days”, so please make sure to read it thoroughly. We are sending it to both parents and students. Welcome Back Week: Schedule Pick Up & School Picture Dates & Times If possible, please try and attend on the day that is designated for your grade level. However, we completely understand if this is not possible and you have other commitments. Schedules may be picked up any day AFTER your original scheduled date, at Door 5, beginning on August 18th. ALL Students are required to have a student ID. Having photos taken is a FREE service, and no picture packet purchase is required. If you want to purchase packets, the order forms are included here. There will be forms on site, OR you can buy online using the website included in this email.
What if I can’t make any of these days? If you cannot attend the Schedule Pick Up days, you can pick up your schedule starting August 18th from 8am-3pm at Door 5. If you need further assistance, please reach out to Melissa Wilson at wilsonm3@salineschools.org. Scheduling information: During schedule pick up week, the counseling office will NOT be open to discuss student schedules. Students will receive information at the time they pick up their schedule with instructions on how to make a schedule change appointment. Any further questions regarding this please contact Patti Fosdick at fosdickp1@salineschools.org All schedule change requests will take place in person with your child's counselor through scheduled appointment times. *Due to the volume of schedule change requests, appointment times will run through the first five days of the school year. This has been common practice at Saline High School in order to meet with all students who request a change. There is simply not enough time before school begins to look at all requested changes. Teachers are aware of this, and plan accordingly, to ensure that no students are behind when entering a new class.* 9th GRADE ORIENTATION: Similar to the orientation our 6th graders went through with WEB, our Link leaders (HS version of WEB) will work with the 9th grade students throughout the orientation and into the school year. 9th grade orientation is on August 18th from 8:30am-12:00pm. This is an event where students should plan to be dropped off and stay at SHS for the entire time frame. A more detailed agenda will be emailed to families. |
PARKING PASSES: Student drivers will still be required to purchase a parking pass. The cost for the year is $65. You can purchase your access HERE and pick it up on August 13th, 14th, or 15th. When students park on campus, it is required that they have a parking tag.
The parking pass requirement is for the safety and security of all of our students and staff. You must order your pass at least 12 hours before picking them up. The purchase is not immediately available to see by the office staff, so you must order ahead of pick up.
FALL SPORTS: Start August 11 with a list of sports offered HERE. Athletic registration is done online and directions to sign up and pay are HERE. More information: salinehornets.com .
If you have any questions regarding Athletics, please contact:
Alli Littlejohn at littleja@salineschools.org.
**We continue to encourage you to use Let’s Talk for any questions you might have. Let’s Talk allows us to answer your questions more efficiently. These can be submitted via the yellow bar on the left side of the SAS website. Thank you and have a great week!**
